Tolerance has become a watchword in much of our society. We seem to pride ourselves in being a tolerant nation. Tolerance has it’s place, but not something we worship.
G. K. Chesterson once remarked, “ Tolerance is the virtue of the man without conviction.”Tolerance makes us popular, gets people elected to office, doesn’t make waves, but it makes no impact for God.
If we don’t stand for something, we will fall for anything. And today we are falling for everything in the name of political correctness . The god of tolerance has turned us into moral and spiritual whimps. God has said, if you are not for me, you are against me. Tolerating what God hates, offends Him. Like abortion, abuse of women and children, and pornography to name a few .
Edmund Burke once said, “ All that is necessary for the triumph of evil , is for good men to do nothing.”
